Located inside the basement level of the Standard Chartered Bank Building in Hong Kong, a hostess greets guests at the top of a winding staircase that circles down into the basement-level restaurant space. A moody, elegant series of dining rooms mix vintage and modern Hong Kong design with elements of art deco and colonial influence. The main room features rattan accents with black leather banquettes and bustling open kitchen with small more intimate dining areas reserved for busier nights and larger, private groups.
The Food
Open for lunch and dinner dialing in addition to a Sunday dim sum lunch service, our meal began with dry fried squid with sweet chili, deep-fried cod with garlic sauce and cold free-range chicken that’s a house specialty. Main course dabbles in land and sea with braised ox tail with Chao Hau sauce, 12-hour sticky pork belly, sweet and sour pork, pigeon with garden greens and grilled lamb chops with Northern China spices.
